Setting Up the 18 x 27 Canopies
- Our primary 18 x 27 canopy (2 pole lengths)
- Standard poles are used for legs and all horizontal runs
- 1 Short pole is connected to 1 standard length pole and installed on each diagonal to connect peak horizontal poles to the side horizontal poles (making canopy peak taller and wider).
- Second 18 x 27 canopy (3 pole lengths)
- Long poles are used for legs and all horizontal runs
- 1 Short poles is connected to 1 medium length pole and installed on each diagonal to connect peak horizontal poles to the side horizontal poles (making canopy peak taller and wider).
- Connectors
- 4-way connectors are used in the interior of the canopy
- 3- way connectors are placed on the ends of the canopies.
- Round feet are secured to the bottom of the legs.
- Bungees
- Not all bungees are created equally. If a bungee is difficult to attach, try a different one or use two of them. Too much pressure can cause ripping in the canopy.
- Never use a bungee on a hole without a metal grommet.
- The bungees with the white ball attached typically on the small side. Avoid using these unless needed.

- King Canopies Detailed Set-up Instructions
- Securing the canopy Options
- Preferred: drive the roughly 24″ stakes about 75% into the ground
- Alternate: Provided Concrete blocks.
- Securing Instructions
- Wrap ropes a couple time around the roof frame and secure
- Secure ropes tightly around stakes or concrete blocks
- Tap the stakes deeper into the ground to tighten the ropes if necessary.
- If ropes are not tight with the concrete blocks, push the blocks out away from the canopy to tighten them.
- NEVER stake the feet of the canopy legs. The legs should lift with the canopy when wind catches the canopy. When staked to the ground the roof separates from the legs and that is when things break.
- To pull stakes out after use, tap the stakes right and left and forward and back to expand the hole in the ground. Stakes should pop right out.
- Instruction Summary
- Layout pipes and connectors
- 3 rows of pipe (2 side horizontals and peak)
- 3-way connector
- standard pipe (1)
- 4-way connector
- standard pipe (2)
- 4 way connector
- standard pipe (3)
- 4-way connector
- standard pipe (4)
- 3 way connector
- Peak Diagonals
- Primary canopy: standard + short
- Second canopy: short + medium
- Attach legs to feet
- Assemble peak frame
- Open canopy tarp over the peak frame
- The bulk of the grommets are under the flap on each side.
- If you don’t have to lift a flap to see the bulk of the grommets, you likely have the tarp upside down.
- Align center stripe on tarp to peak of the frame
- Attach bungees on the diagonal sides while centering tarp
- Attach bungees on the horizontals using the grommets under the flaps
- Insert the legs on one side of the canopy, and then the other
- Secure the canopy with stakes or concrete blocks
- Tighten the peak strings to hold the flap down over the poles. Use bungees to hold it tight.
- Bungee the side flaps to the legs
